9/11 Panel Members Weren't Told of
Meeting

WASHINGTON, Oct. 2 - Members of the Sept.
11 commission said today that they were alarmed that they were told nothing
about a White House meeting in July 2001 at which George J. Tenet, then the
director of central intelligence, is reported to have warned Condoleezza Rice,
then the national security adviser, about an imminent Al Qaeda attack and failed
to persuade her to take action.
Details of the previously undisclosed
meeting on July 10, 2001, two months before the Sept. 11 terror attacks, were
first reported last week in a new book by the journalist Bob Woodward. The final
report from the Sept. 11 commission made no mention of the meeting nor did it
suggest there had been such an encounter between Mr. Tenet and Ms. Rice, now
secretary of state.

The House and the Senate have passed the catastrophic "compromise" negotiated by
senators McCain & Co. to the President's "enemy combatants" bill. The only
thing compromised is the rule of law; the bill still strips detainees of the
right to appeal, broadens the President's unilateral powers to decide who is an
enemy and which interrogation methods violate the Geneva Conventions, and
fatally undermines the War Crimes Act. The bill was rushed to passage just days
after the Canadian government exonerated Maher Arar, "rendered" by the United
States to Syria, imprisoned and tortured for nearly a year.

are you an "Enemy Combatant?"

-This is another
telltale facet that proves the bill applies to U.S. citizens and includes them
under the "enemy combatant" designation. We previously cited the comments of
Yale law Professor Bruce Ackerman, who wrote in the L.A. Times, "The compromise
legislation....authorizes the president to seize American citizens as enemy
combatants, even if they have never left the United States. And once thrown into
military prison, they cannot expect a trial by their peers or any other of the
normal protections of the Bill of Rights."
The New York Times stated that
the legislation introduced, "A dangerously broad definition of "illegal enemy
combatant" in the bill could subject legal residents of the United States, as
well as foreign citizens living in their own countries, to summary arrest and
indefinite detention with no hope of appeal. The president could give the power
to apply this label to anyone he wanted."
-The bill also allows hearsay
evidence (obtained via phony confessions after torture) to be considered by the
military tribunal and bars the suspect from even having knowledge of the charges
against him - making a case for defense impossible. This is guaranteed to
produce 100% conviction rates as you would expect in the dictatorships of
Uzbekistan or Zimbabwe...

inadvertently, exposed themselves to possible "enemy combatant" status. I bet
they won't like the new "procedures" half as much if / when they're used against
them.

The
Antifederalists Were Right

The Antifederalists were
opponents of ratifying the US Constitution. They feared that it would create an
overbearing central government, while the Constitution's proponents promised
that this would not happen. As the losers in that debate, (the Antifederalists)
are largely overlooked today. But that does not mean they were wrong or that we
are not indebted to them.
-The Antifederalists warned us that the cost
Americans would bear in both liberty and resources for the government that would
evolve under the Constitution would rise sharply. That is why their objections
led to the Bill of Rights, to limit that tendency (though with far too little
success that has survived to the present).
Antifederalists opposed the
Constitution on the grounds that its checks on federal power would be undermined
by expansive interpretations of promoting the "general welfare" (which would be
claimed for every law) and the "all laws necessary and proper" clause (which
would be used to override limits on delegated federal powers), creating a
federal government with unwarranted and undelegated powers that were bound to be
abused.

In the late 1980s, I was the first
western journalist allowed into the world's most dreaded prison, Moscow's
sinister Lubyanka. Muscovites dared not even utter the name of KGB's
headquarters, calling it instead after a nearby toy store, "Detsky
Mir."
I still shudder recalling Lubyanka's underground cells, grim
interrogation rooms, and execution cellars where tens of thousands were tortured
and shot. I sat at the desk from which the monsters who ran Cheka (Soviet secret
police) - Dzerzhinsky, Yagoda, Yezhov, Beria - ordered 30 million victims to
their deaths.
Prisoners taken in the dead of night to Lubyanka were
systematically beaten for days with rubber hoses and clubs. There were special
cold rooms where prisoners could be frozen to near death. Sleep deprivation was
a favourite and most effective Cheka technique. So was near-drowning in water
fouled with urine and feces.
-We have seen America's president and vice
president, sworn to uphold the Constitution, advocating some of the same
interrogation techniques the KGB used at the Lubyanka. They apparently believe
beating, freezing, sleep deprivation and near-drowning are necessary to prevent
terrorist attacks. So did Stalin.

Governor Jesse Ventura Questions Official 9/11 Story

Former Minnesota Governor, actor and wrestling star Jesse Ventura has
publicly questioned the official version of events behind 9/11 and gone further
than ever before in citing Operation Northwoods and the Gulf of Tonkin as
examples of how the government has planned and carried out staged war
provocations in the past.
Ventura has temporarily left his Baja Mexico
surfing lifestyle to lend support to Texas gubernatorial candidate Kinky
Friedman. At a press conference yesterday Ventura said that the Republicans and
Democrats were "destroying our country" and its political process. Sporting a
beard and dreadlocks, the former Vietnam veteran also criticized the Iraq
war.

First; this administration FOUGHT having an investigation tooth and nail; that
right there should tell you something. Second, the "investigation" we finally
got was a complete joke (don't believe me, read some of the comments of those
who were actually involved in it.) Third, how many times does somebody have to

disclose 'shadow government'

Government documents
released by a Freedom of Information Act request reveal the Bush administration
is running a "shadow government" with Mexico and Canada in which the U.S. is
crafting a broad range of policy in conjunction with its neighbors to the north
and south, asserts WND columnist and author Jerome R. Corsi.
The
documents, a total of about 1,000 pages, are among the first to be released to
Corsi through his FOIA request to the Security and Prosperity Partnership of
North America, or SPP, which describes itself as an initiative "to increase
security and to enhance prosperity among the three countries through greater
cooperation."
"The documents clearly reveal that SPP, working within the
U.S. Department of Commerce, is far advanced in putting together a new regional
infrastructure, creating a 'shadow' trilateral bureaucracy with Mexico and
Canada that is aggressively rewriting a wide range of U.S. administrative law,
all without congressional oversight or public disclosure," Corsi said.

looking to scare you. But you need to know that the end is near for "archaic"
ideas like . . .
* the right to security in your home and papers

the right to be free from unreasonable searches
* the safety net of judicial
warrant requirements
* the right to a trial by a jury of your peers in a
system of due process
* reasonable bail and recourse for false arrest

protection from cruel and unusual punishment
And the news on the
Tribunal/Torture bill just got worse. There was a "lesser evil" version of this
bill from Senators Warner and McCain, but Warner and McCain just rolled over.
The new bill will . . .
* Allow the President to detain people
indefinitely without charges,
* Deny detainees access to courts to challenge
their detention or their treatment.
* Create special military tribunals with
reduced standards of due process
* Deny detainees the protection of the
Geneva Convention's Common Article 3
* Allow the President to define torture
But you may not hear it reported this way in the media, because the
politicians are playing clever games with words. Take note: The protections of
Common Article 3 aren't defined in the legislation, so Congress can claim
they've left these protections in place. But it isn't true, because now only the
President decides what those protections actually are, and no accused person can
even claim the protection of Common Article 3 before the special tribunals this
legislation creates.
These bills will pass in the House, but we need to
have as many votes against them as we can muster. This will help us in the
Senate. Senate rules make it possible for us to stop these bills in that
chamber. YOU need to make a BIG NOISE. And know this:
You won't be

The NeoCons (Once known in Washington as "the
crazies") somehow managed to get into positions of power. They then used 9/11 to
hijack our foreign and domestic policy. Hiding behind their fraudulent "war on
terror" they are destroying what's left of this country. Bit by bit, piece by
piece, they are leading us into the darkness of Soviet style "security" and
endless war.
What power do these men possess? What in God's name could
be so terrifying that they've cowed Congress into submission? How can our
"representatives" sit idly by as they rape this country's Constitution and Bill

Message boards provide an excellent opportunity to "make our
case" for a new investigation into the events of 911. By putting our strongest
evidence and arguments out there (and addressing common disinformation) we're
providing all other like-minded individuals information they can use. In the
end, it really isn't about the people we're arguing with on the board itself
(although occasionally they do come around) more it's about everyone else. -Some
example arguments appear below:
"The best reason we have for doubting the
accuracy of the official account is the source of that account itself. (That is
to say: The same source that linked Saddam to 911, to OBL, to the anthrax
attacks, and to WMD; the same source that has been "wrong" about innumerable
other claims presented as "fact.") Call me crazy, but I'm distrustful of any
individual or institution that gives me inaccurate or misleading information on
a regular basis. (Yes, this includes those who claim to be involved in the "911
Truth Movement.")
As far as evidence goes (that the government is lying)
the body of evidence is "greater than the sum of its parts." From a string of
implausible "intelligence failures" that permitted the attacks, to the fact
nobody was ever held accountable for negligence and some were actually promoted.
From the administrations deliberate attempt to derail an investigation; to the
way in which the shoe-string "Commission" was eventually assembled and directed.
From being told repeatedly "nobody could have ever imagined this" to the fact
military drills mimicking precisely a 9/11 style attack (Jets as weapons flown
into the WTC) were conducted years prior to the actual event. Moreover, multiple
drills of this type were being run on 9/11 itself. -but we're to accept it was
"never imagined."
Each of these pieces paint a clear picture of deception
and we need to get to the bottom of why. There could be many reasons I suppose,
but when you look at how the attacks have been used to completely transform
foreign and domestic policy; it would be foolish to ignore the worst case
scenario. If you research the history of state sponsored "false-flag terrorism,"
the absurdity of NOT considering all the angles becomes even more
apparent."
